Thousands of volunteer
manhours have been invested in the creation and ongoing maintenance
of Perry Lake Trail. Over the years members of Kansas Trails
Council, Sierra
Club, Kansas City Outdoor
Club, Audubon, scouting groups and many other organizations have
volunteered time and material to ensure this recreational resource
remains available to all. On recent outings we have begun collecting
photos of some of these volunteers. If you have photos you'd like to
share from past outings, please contact us.
Some individuals who
contributed a great deal of their time to Perry Lake Trail are no
longer with us. They are honored along the trail and
here:

1/21/06: Volunteers from KTC show
up to begin clearing a reroute on Section 4. A cold, cold day with
near freezing temperatures, snow on the ground and
fog.

1/21/06: A before image with just a
couple trees removed, and an after image showing the trail heading
east from the boat ramp area.

1/21/06: A before image with Ed
clearing the trail corridor, and an after image with a wide-open
trail established through the trees.

2/11/06: Linda, Rebecca, Geoff and
Steve install mile markers on Section
